Hanna Buechi

Hanna grew up in the Bay Area before moving to Seattle, Bozeman, South Africa, and finally, Boston, where she finished her B.S. in biology at Tufts University and played Ultimate Frisbee with Tufts Ewo. After graduating, she went back to the Bay Area to work as an exhibit technician at The Exploratorium in San Francisco and as a researcher at The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito. She moved to Eugene to study the co-evolution of glycoprotein hormones and their receptors with Dr. Jamie Bridgham, and is excited to transition that theoretical framework to study the evolution of host-pathogen dynamics. She loves trail running, climbing, and spending hours hunched over the potter’s wheel making bowls (sometimes they flatten themselves and end up as plates…).
